AVCWare Video Cutter can help you extract segments from a video. Moreover, you can also use it to perform simple editing actions or convert to another format.
The program has a nice multi-language interface. Using it is not very difficult. By loading a video file, you will be able to preview its contents, and while you do so, you can simply set the output fragment’s start and end points. However, the program allows you to do much more than that because you can also extract multiple segments from the same source file in a single session. And even more, you can create a single output file out of these fragments by combining them. This will be very useful, for instance, when you need to remove undesired parts from the original file. It is a pity that the program cannot identify key frames automatically, a feature that could help you find the exact time a scene starts and ends. Another useful feature that is absent is the capability to select a fragment by inversion, that is, instead of selecting the segment you want to keep, you could choose the part you wish to erase.
After selecting the fragments, you can proceed to extract them, but before that, you will be prompted to select an output profile, but you may also keep the file’s original format. It is a good thing that the program supports a very impressive range of output formats. The target profiles have been organized into classes, and besides common audio and video formats, you can also find the names of popular devices. However, you can also personalize a profile by modifying its parameters. Unfortunately, I could not find a way to save the new profile for later use.
Frankly speaking, AVCWare Video Cutter is probably the best video cutter available, but you should keep in mind that this is not a full-fledged video editor. Therefore, if you intend to do more complex operations, like adding effects or cutting the frame, you should keep on looking elsewhere.
